‘Createract’ - The festival celebrating creative talent, organized by the Rotaract Club of Colombo, for the 14th successive year, brings together Interactors and Rotaractors, giving them the opportunity to highlight their talent to prominent personalities in the related industry with limitless opportunities.
With participation exceeding 200, from 9 Interact Clubs and 7 Rotaract Clubs, Createract 2009 held on the 23rd of May at the Sasakawa Hall, Colombo, was a tremendous success. This was made possible with partnership from Reborn as the Gold sponsor, British Computer Society (BCS) as the Silver sponsor, supported by Virtusa and the Sandwich Factory.
With celebrated personalities Brandon Irangam, Anjuli, Nehara Peiris, Charliya Sathyagith, Ashanthi, Randhir, & Umara Singhawansa as the judges, the overall champion for 2009 was the Rotaract Club of Colombo Midtown. The winners for the other competitions were: The Interact Club of Visaka Vidyalaya for Just-a-Minute, The Rotaract Club of Panadura for Create-an-act, The Interact Club of Zahira College for Create-an-answer, The Interact club of Thurstan College for Create-a-Look, The Rotaract Club of Colombo Midtown for Create-a-Sketch, The Rotaract Club of Colombo Midcity for Creative-Writing, The Interact Club of Royal College for Create-an-Ad, The Rotaract Club of Colombo Midtown and an Independent team consisting of the Rotaract Clubs of the University of Colombo and Colombo Midcity for Create-anything, The Rotaract Club of Colombo Midtown for create-a-dance and The Interact Club of Zahira College for Create-a-song.
Last year’s overall championship was won by the Interact Club of Asian International School and the previous year – 2007 Champion was the Interact Club of Wesley College.
The Rotaract Club of Colombo meets on the first and third Tuesday of every month at the Royal College Union Building at 6.30 p.m.
