Joint Bulletin with the Rotaract Club of PSGCAS, Coimbatore - India

A joint Bulletin was done with the RC of PSGCAS of Coimbatore, India in the month of November to strengthen the ties between the two clubs and to share information. The bulletin was titled as “The Communic”


In a special message conveyed by President Nooranie, he have open heartedly invited the RC of PSGCAS to join hands with RCC to work together in future.


Details of some of the projects of RCC, pictures, etc was included in the bulletin and it was circulated to the other President of the RI District 3220.

Guest speaker: Eran Wickramaratne - CEO, NDB Bank PLC


Director / Chief Executive Officer of the National Development Bank PLC. Prior to the merger of the National Development Bank and NDB Bank PLC, MrWickramaratne functioned as Director/Chief Executive Officer of the NDB Bank PLC. From 1999 to 2001, he was Assistant General Manager, responsible for Corporate Finance, Infrastructure and Privatization.


Mr Wickramaratne joined the NDB in 1999 from Citibank, where he was Vice-President and Corporate Bank Head. He has 15 years of varied banking experience at Citibank and held various positions. Mr Wickramaratne was a pioneer of the Government of Sri Lanka’s Information Communication Technology driven Development Programme, e-Sri Lanka and was Chairman of the Information Communication Technology Agency (ICTA).


He also served as a Director on the Board of Investment. He holds a Degree in Economics and Politics and a M.Sc. in Economics from the University of London. MrWickramaratne is an Eisenhower Fellow. He spoke to the club of “Post War Economics”

“This is it” – Fundraiser

The project was organized on the 14 November 2009 at the Liberty Cinema to raise funds for Club and Community Service activities of the Rotaract Club of Colombo. The project was a major success and hall was almost packed.


The club was able to raise around 115,000/- rupees from the project and there were several members of the other Rotaract Clubs, Rotarian and 18 members (45%) of RCC present at the occasion.
