Joint Fun Rally with the Rotary Club of Colombo & the Inner-Wheel Club of Colombo















With the objective of bringing together the Rotary Family the Rotaract Club of Colombo together with the Rotary Club of Colombo & the Inner-Wheel Club of Colombo organized a fun rally on the 11th of October (Sunday). Those who participated included Rotarians, Inner-Wheel members, Rotaractors and family and friends.


We met at the IBM car park in Nawam Mawatha, the Rally commenced at 9.30 a.m. and everyone came together for lunch at Bolgoda. RCC entered 6 teams for the rally.

The District Poya Day Project – October 2009

The monthly Poya day project was hosted by the Rotaract Club of Colombo on the 3rd of October at the Preethipura Home in Hendala, Wattala.

The project was mainly organized with the objective of spending time with the residents as well as for the Rotaractors to be made aware of the under privileged of our society who are being neglected.

Seven Rotaract Clubs including the RCs of Colombo Mid Town, Battaramulla, Colombo Regent, Colombo West, Pamunugama, Panadura and Wellawatta attended this project; Members of the Rotaract District Organization and 8 members of the Rotaract Club of Colombo participated.

Screening of a Movie at the Salvation Army Detention Centre - “Celebrate Rotaract”

Chartered on the 9th September 1969, the Rotaract Club of Colombo is the first Rotaract Club to be established in Sri Lanka and has a history of appreciated community service and professional development spanning 40 years; hence this year’s theme has been chosen to be ‘Celebrate Rotaract’.

The Rotaract Club of Colombo is organizing a series of projects to mark the anniversary in September and some of them include community service projects as well as projects to project the image of Rotaract across the country.

A movie was screened by the Rotaract Club of Colombo on the 27 September at the Salvation Army probation/ detention centre for children with conflict with law and most of them under witness protection. The project mainly was organized with the objective of spending the evening with the children & and keep their minds occupied with fun and laughter, and also for the rotaractors to be aware that, there are children like them with conflict with the law.

For this purpose RCC organized a movie with refreshments for tea in the evening at the centre.
