Screening of a Movie at the Salvation Army Detention Centre - “Celebrate Rotaract”

Chartered on the 9th September 1969, the Rotaract Club of Colombo is the first Rotaract Club to be established in Sri Lanka and has a history of appreciated community service and professional development spanning 40 years; hence this year’s theme has been chosen to be ‘Celebrate Rotaract’.

The Rotaract Club of Colombo is organizing a series of projects to mark the anniversary in September and some of them include community service projects as well as projects to project the image of Rotaract across the country.

A movie was screened by the Rotaract Club of Colombo on the 27 September at the Salvation Army probation/ detention centre for children with conflict with law and most of them under witness protection. The project mainly was organized with the objective of spending the evening with the children & and keep their minds occupied with fun and laughter, and also for the rotaractors to be aware that, there are children like them with conflict with the law.

For this purpose RCC organized a movie with refreshments for tea in the evening at the centre.
