Rtn. PP. Chandima Gunawardena, currently is a Senior Executive Group Director of Carson Cumberbatch Plc., and represents in the group boards in its Indonesian Palm Oil Plantation interests, Brewery, Property development, Capitol market Investment and Hotel companies in Sri Lanka. He has over 38 yrs experience in diverse business activities nationally and internationally.

For many years he was a member of the management committee of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and is a founder/sitting member of the management council of the Sri Lankan Institute of Directors and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants – UK.

He is married to Shahnaz, with two children Sehr – currently reading law at University of Bristol UK and Mehr – a student at Colombo International School. He is also a self taught Agronomist and a proprietary coconut planter, Forester and environmental conservationist.

He is also a founder Director of FARO – Foundation for Advancement of Rural Opportunities – a non profit organization dedicated to uplift rural opportunities in Sri Lanka in an IT /web based BPO sector.

Sportsman from young age and continues to be a dedicated Yachtman sailing regularly at Bolgoda Lake and has taken part in many international regattas across the world. He is currently the President of the Yachting Association of Sri Lanka – the National body for Sailing.

A Rotarian for over 30 years and was the President of Rotary Club of Colombo in the year 2000/2001. More importantly, he was a Past President of the Rotarct Club of Colombo.
